I love teaching and am happy to visit schools or libraries and deliver workshops or presentations on creative writing, art, illustration, or creative play.

Three workshops I do:

• Helping kids make their very own journals (yes! We make real books!)

• Secrets for writing funny books (lots of giggles for this one!)

• Narrative play with one-page zines

My experience: I designed lessons for and taught art to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders at a local Montessori school for 8 years. I also taught 4th-6th graders during some of that time, so I have experience with a wide range of ages. Teaching is a huge joy for me! I have experience teaching in-person and via Zoom, and I enjoy both.

Please note that I also do a limited amount of 15-minute free author visits for schools during WORLD READ-ALOUD Day, which usually takes place on the first Wednesday in February. I especially appreciate visiting schools that have purchased my book, THE ELEPHANTS’ GUIDE TO HIDE-AND-SEEK.
